Will I work full-time while on assignment?

Access Therapies assignments are almost always full-time (36 to 48 hours per week). Certain assignments allow for extra shifts and overtime rates.

How do I choose an assignment?

We have assignments throughout the U.S. in a variety of healthcare settings ranging from cosmopolitan large cities to more quaint, rural environments. The choice is based on your existing skills and your personal preferences regarding location and setting. If your preferences cannot be met by currently available assignments, Access Therapies will then serve as your advocate to seek out the best opportunity.

What about licensing and certification requirements?

Your Access Therapies recruiter will draw upon our substantial experience in securing licensure and provide support throughout the process. The length of time required varies by state, so give adequate time for this phase. If you have all the required documentation readily available, we can start reviewing assignments upon receiving your completed application. Depending on your choice of location, you could begin work in a few days or a few weeks. Some of our travelers schedule assignments 3 months in advance or more.

How do I interview?

All travel job interviews are conducted by telephone with clinical personnel. This is your opportunity to get answers to issues affecting your decision to accept the assignment. You make a commitment only when you are fully satisfied.

What about compensation?

Rates typically exceed traditional forms of employment and vary by region, setting, and qualifications. Paychecks are weekly and may be direct deposited into the bank account of your choice.

Will I be financially ahead as a traveler?

Most definitely. In addition to covering travel and housing costs, Access Therapies pays premium pay rates. There is never a fee to you. Want to know more? Call an Access Therapies Recruiter today!

How often will I be paid?

Access Therapies pays weekly. Checks are mailed on Friday. We strongly encourage direct deposit, which may be posted to your account as early as that day, depending on your bank.

What will my work week be?

Your work week will generally conform to the work week of the facility to which you are assigned. This will be important for scheduling and overtime considerations.

When are timesheets due?

Timesheets for the previous week's work are due by 5 pm EST in Access Therapies offices. The fax number is 1-317-388-0800.

Do I need a license for every state?

Yes, but some states accept licenses from other states, called Compact States. Ask your agent if you have a license from one of those states and qualify for practice in other states.

Do I sign a contract with you or with the hospital?

You sign an employment agreement with Access Therapies for each new assignment.

Can I have a washer and dryer in the unit?

If it is at all possible and you request a washer and dryer in your unit, every effort will be made to fulfill your wishes. There are rare occasions when this is not possible, however, if this is the case, there is usually a laundry room on each floor, or very close to your apartment.

What about the phone, cable and utilities?

Access Therapies will set up and pay all utilities with the exception of the phone and the cable. In some instances your new housing complex will offer free basic cable through the apartment. Your housing coordinator will let you know the names and phone numbers of the cable and phone companies that you need to contact and assist you with any of your needs

Is the housing in a safe area?

Our prime concern is for the safety and comfort of our employees. Every effort is made to place you in an area that has been tried and proven by other nurse travelers or has been highly recommended by the hospital or chamber of commerce in the area.

Can I bring a pet?

We certainly know how important and beneficial it is to have a loyal, loving companion traveling with you and we welcome your pet. Just let your Housing Coordinator know the type and the weight of the pet you wish to bring and he/she will do their best to find a “pet friendly” home for both of you. Traveling with a pet does limit the housing selections available, however we have been able to find many apartments that love your pet just as you do. Remember, Access Therapies will pay the security deposit for your housing, however, pet deposits and additional pet rent are the responsibility of the pet owner.
