Job Responsibilities

  • Directs the activities of the nursing department(s) for assigned location(s).
  • Oversight of work schedules and activities of nursing staff to meet patient care needs, maintain productivity standards, and control overtime.
  • Works with the Area Director of Nursing to implement and operationalize the centralized scheduling model for their location(s).
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures by the department and oversees the selection, development, and monitoring of nursing staff.
  • Partners with the Nurse Manager and/or Nursing Supervisor on the supervision and evaluation of nursing personnel providing direct patient care.
  • Directs all human resource issues related to nursing personnel, including recruitment, performance evaluations, disciplines, and terminations.
  • Partners with each location to ensure that all nurses providing care maintain professional standards of nursing practice.
  • Supports and drives supply formulary compliance, ensuring nurses monitor patient supplies and maintain adequate levels.
  • Assists Operations Leadership in preparing, securing approval for, and implementing department budgets.
  • Coordinates patient services with pharmacy, delivery, reimbursement, and other departments.
  • Establishes purchase and expedition of medical supplies and equipment within budget constraints.
  • Participates in assessing, managing, and reporting nursing operational and financial data to Operations Leaders.
  • Ensures locations have a process to collect and organize patient-specific information for suitability for home care.
  • Assesses patients' suitability for home care in accordance with policies.
  • Provides continuing education on home care infusion-related issues to physicians, nurses, and other practitioners.
  • Facilitates a clinical networking system for the agency and acts as a clinical resource.
  • Meets all standards outlined in Nursing Leadership job descriptions.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • Registered Nurse with a license in the current state of practice
  • 6 years of home health/infusion care experience
  • 3 years in a nursing leadership role within a home care setting
  • Knowledge of local, State, Federal, and accrediting body rules and regulations
  • Competency in clinical management of home infusion patients
  • Documented experience with nursing process and patient management skills
  • Knowledge of documentation and billing requirements for home health/infusion care
  • Time management skills
  • Experience with developing clinical services processes and documentation
  • Basic level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Skills

  • BSN with CRNI certification or other professional certification
  • Documentation of advanced management training
  • 4 years of experience in a home health/infusion setting

Requirements

Experience: At least 6 years of home health/infusion care experience; minimum of 3 years in a nursing leadership role

Education: Registered Nurse with a license; BSN or bachelor’s degree in a health-related field for California-based applicants
