Job Responsibilities
- Independently provides patient care using the nursing process.
- Performs leadership and teaching duties necessary for effective patient care.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement activities.
- Assesses the biophysical, psychosocial, and educational needs of patients.
- Documents and communicates changes in patient assessment.
- Develops and implements a patient care plan.
- Communicates pertinent information to the healthcare team and patients.
- Evaluates nursing care and modifies the plan as needed.
- Provides patient/family education and assesses learning needs.
- Demonstrates effective delegation and mentoring skills.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Clinical competency in nursing practice.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to use technology and equipment for patient care.
Preferred Skills
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- Certification in specialized areas (ACLS, PALS, etc.) as required.
Requirements
Experience:
Education: Associates degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse license in Maryland or compact state.
- CPR certification.
- Required certifications specific to nursing units within 1 year of hire.
Schedule:
- Full time position of 72 hours per pay period.
- 8-hour on-call per schedule.
