Job Responsibilities
- Screen and assess referred newly admitted patients' medical needs.
- Complete nursing assessments on all patients arriving at the facility.
- Assist in telephonic and in-person assessment.
- Communicate findings to the Admissions and Nursing staff.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- 2-3 years experience in Mental Health setting
- Bachelor’s in Nursing
- Exposure to psychiatric patients exhibiting violent/aggressive behavior
- Prior intake, assessment, admission, and crisis intervention experience with psychiatric mental health population
- Knowledge of age-specific growth and development
- Knowledge of addiction issues
- Knowledge of limit setting and behavior management
- Crisis management
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to plan, direct, and monitor the activities of others with demonstrated leadership abilities
