Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimal quality of medical care for patients participating in study while adhering to ethical conduct standards.
  • Assist in the formation of educational aides and manuals as reference frameworks for patients and staff.
  • Participate in continuing education programs.
  • Educate nursing staff on drug protocols.
  • Assist with updating policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on new treatment methods, including various venous access devices.
  • Arrange follow-up visits with patients to assess quality of care and apply physical and psychological assessments.
  • Implement appropriate interventions in the event of adverse patient responses.
  • Assess patient eligibility for inclusion in investigational studies.
  • Review patient history and abstracts, record information, and secure baseline laboratory blood work from patients.
  • Review 'informed consent' with patients; coordinate and educate patients and medical personnel on required follow-up tests.
  • Assist the physician in preparing IRB documents and maintain correspondence with sponsoring organizations and IRB.
  • Ensure adherence to study requirements and monitor study drugs according to protocols.
  • Monitor and perform pharmacokinetic studies as detailed in protocols and attend to laboratory procedures for processing, storing, and shipping specimens.

Experience: Approximately 2 years of related work experience in a clinical setting.
