Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.
- Provide clinical leadership for other staff and assume relief charge duties when designated.
- Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care.
- Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.
- Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families.
- Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety.
- Identify and report/correct environmental conditions that may put a patient at undue risk.
- Work within Hospitals, Nursing division and departmental policies.
- Work in collaboration with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans.
- Administer medication, including IV medication, and document clinical findings.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
- Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients.
- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients.
- Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information.
- Answer telephones and triage calls as per departmental policy.
- Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel.
- Report potential or actual patient safety concerns and medical errors in a timely manner.
- Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care.

Requirements
Experience: Nonessential: No minimum experience required
Education: Program Graduate from Nationally Accredited Nursing
License & Certification:
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers within 30 days
- RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months
- Basic Arrhythmia Certification within 1 year
