Job Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients.
  • Provide clinical leadership for other staff and assume relief charge duties when designated.
  • Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care.
  • Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families.
  • Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety.
  • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions that may put a patient at undue risk.
  • Work within Hospitals, Nursing division and departmental policies.
  • Work in collaboration with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans.
  • Administer medication, including IV medication, and document clinical findings.
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
  • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients.
  • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients.
  • Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information.
  • Answer telephones and triage calls as per departmental policy.
  • Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel.
  • Report potential or actual patient safety concerns and medical errors in a timely manner.
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care.

Requirements

Experience: Nonessential: No minimum experience required

Education: Program Graduate from Nationally Accredited Nursing

License & Certification:

  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers within 30 days
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months
  • Basic Arrhythmia Certification within 1 year
