Job Responsibilities
- Triage inbound sick calls from Medical Group patients.
- Assess patient symptoms and provide appropriate medical advice.
- Determine the level of care required and coordinate care with the care team.
- Review clinical test results and summarize findings for providers.
- Prioritize and respond promptly to each inbound phone call and voicemail received.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Classify inbound interactions for clinical triage or transfer to another care team member.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ symptoms and medical history over the phone.
- Use evidence-based guidelines to make informed decisions on patient conditions.
- Identify when crisis intervention is required and connect patients to emergency services.
- Educate patients and caregivers on health maintenance and necessary follow-up steps.
- Perform outbound phone calls to communicate providers' orders.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure patient needs are met.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing emotional support.
- Analyze test results data and communicate findings to providers.
- Perform data entry for patient results and quality metrics.
- Maintain clear communication with care team members.
- Address patient complaints and grievances effectively.
- Participate in projects and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse license
- Strong comprehension of medical terminology
- Ability to react decisively in urgent situations
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) system
- Strong communication skills (written & spoken)
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid
- 2+ years of experience as an RN
- Contact center experience
- Nurse triage experience
- Experience in Aprima (EHR)
- Multistate License (MSL)
Requirements
Experience: 2+ years of experience as an RN preferred.
Education: Graduate of approved or accredited nursing education program as a Registered Nurse.
License & Certification:
- Current valid RN license
- Must obtain and maintain RN license within all service states within 6 months from hire
