Job Responsibilities

Recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and staffing of team members.
Implement resident-centered dementia care.
Provide nursing care to residents including completion of health assessments and resident care plans.
Discuss changes in resident condition with physicians.
Introduce interventions to reduce falls based on individual resident needs.
Provide medication administration and help with resident care as needed.
Coordinate the resident admission process including screening, assessment, and care planning in conjunction with the community’s multidisciplinary team.
Fill in on weekends as a Manager-On-Duty as needed.

Required Skills

Core Skills

Current Licensed Practical Nurse certification.
Management experience in directing/providing dementia care for seniors.
Strong background in patient care assessment.
Experience in assessing resident behavioral symptoms.
Ability to develop non-pharmacologic approaches to meeting resident needs.

Preferred Skills

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Gerontology.
Experience in community or long-term care settings.
Caregiver certifications beneficial to the community.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of management experience in directing/providing dementia care for seniors preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Gerontology preferred.

License & Certification:

Current Licensed Practical Nurse certification.
