Job Responsibilities
- Apply the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge needs of patients/families/significant others.
- Utilize Core Concepts of Patient- and Family-Centered Care (PFCC) to personalize care for each patient/family.
- Recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
- Partner with and incorporate patient/family input and goals in planning the plan of care.
- Provide quality care that meets or exceeds expected values.
- Assist individuals considering their special needs, age-related, and cultural-related needs.
- Recognize roles of the interdisciplinary team, patient, and family care partners as resources in planning patient care.
- Delegate appropriate tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge and competence in technical procedures and equipment use.
- Document in the patient record timely, accurately, and concisely.
- Develop teaching strategies for patients/families and document education appropriately in health records.
- Demonstrate leadership in professional practice and mentor peers.
- Stay updated with current health system initiatives and incorporate evidence-based practice and research.
- Complete self-appraisals including professional goals annually and participate in peer reviews.
- Engage in department-based activities, staff meetings, and committees.
- Participate in handoffs of care, including the patient, family, and partners in care.
- Embrace community cultural traditions and lore.

Requirements
Experience: New graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience required to enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure.
Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent; BSN or higher preferred.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation required upon hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA required within 180 days
Schedule:
- 36 hours of work per week
- Every third weekend
