Job Responsibilities
- Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs and workshops.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Seek opportunities to improve patient safety by questioning current policies and processes.
- Identify and report/correct environmental conditions that may put patients at risk.
- Work within hospitals, nursing division and departmental policies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans.
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights and document clinical findings.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained.
- Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients.
- Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients.
- Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information.
- Answer telephones and triage calls as per departmental policy.
- Participate in orientation and assume precepting responsibilities of new personnel.
- Report potential or actual patient safety concerns in a timely manner.
- Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider
- RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
- Basic Arrhythmia Certification
Preferred Skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Nationally Certified in area of specialty
- PALS, TNCC and/or ENPC
Requirements
Experience: No minimum experience required
Education: Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate
License & Certification:
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider within 30 days
- RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months
- Basic Arrhythmia Certification within 1 year
