Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrates clinical nursing knowledge and skill in the specialization of the unit.
- Applies the nursing process effectively in the care of culturally diverse patients and families.
- Organizes and reprioritizes patient care activities based on patient and environmental changes.
- Assesses patients to collect data and identify learning needs.
- Develops individualized problem lists for assigned patients.
- Creates a plan of care for each patient in accordance with established standards and goals.
- Implements the patient's plan of care efficiently.
- Demonstrates proficiency in medication administration and pain management.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of care plans and makes necessary modifications.
- Assesses the patient's/family's learning needs and develops teaching plans.
- Provides direct patient care in a culturally, developmentally, and ethically appropriate manner.
- Participates in quality improvement and risk management activities.
- Supports the use of evidence-based guidelines for safe patient care.
- Engages in shared governance and aids in the education and orientation of new staff.
- Delegates and evaluates patient care activities.
- Utilizes real-time computer documentation for patient records.

Requirements
Experience:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

- Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing
- American Heart Association CPR for Healthcare Providers
