Job Responsibilities
- Recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and staffing of team members.
- Implementing resident-centered dementia care.
- Provide nursing care to residents, including completion of health assessments and resident care plans.
- Discuss changes in resident condition with physicians and introduce interventions to reduce falls based on individual resident needs.
- Provide medication administration and assist with resident care as needed.
- In conjunction with the community’s multidisciplinary team, coordinate the resident admission process including screening, assessment, and care planning.
- Occasionally fill in on the weekend as a Manager-On-Duty.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Licensed Practical Nurse certification
- Management experience
- Patient care assessment
- Non-pharmacologic approaches to meeting resident needs
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Gerontology
- Experience in community or long-term care settings
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of management experience in directing/providing dementia care for seniors
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
License & Certification:
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse required
- Caregiver certifications beneficial
