Job Responsibilities
- Provides coverage in the newborn nursery at Tampa General Hospital.
- Performs professional nurse practitioner or physician assistant care according to established standards, practices, protocols.
- Carries out initial components of assessment of patient condition, including history and physical.
- Participates in QA projects and educational sessions for clinical staff.
- Attends scheduled organizational sessions.
- Teaches, conducts research, and provides academic advising and related activities.
- Represents the university or department on university and/or statewide committees.
- Performs specified acts of medical and nursing care within the licensed specialty.
- Records appropriate information on patient chart.
- Administers and/or prescribes medications and treatments per established protocol.
- Counsels patients and families.
- Evaluates progress of patients.

Requirements
Experience: Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a hospital setting, preferably in Pediatrics.
Education: Master's or Medical degree from an accredited institution.
License & Certification:
- Certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 for ARNP or Florida Statutes 458 and 459 for PA
- Board-certified or board-eligible
Schedule:
- 4 ten-hour shifts
- Weekend coverage included
