Job Responsibilities

Provides comprehensive care to patients and families with complex healthcare needs.
Promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
Ensures efficient operation of the clinic or unit by proper scheduling, planning, and maintenance of supplies.
Conducts focused and comprehensive assessments through subjective and objective data.
Documents assessments and nursing care plans using critical thinking and judgment.
Implements plan of care through assignment and monitoring of other nurses and staff.
Initiates standing orders for prescription refills and labs.
Develops and implements teaching plans for patients regarding health maintenance and restoration.
Evaluates patients’ responses to education and therapeutic interventions.
Communicates effectively with the collaborative team, escalating critical results as necessary.
Coordinates care and refers patients to appropriate agencies or professionals.
Performs on-site and telephone triage using best practice guidelines.
Acts as a patient and healthcare advocate while maintaining a safe environment.
Respects and maintains privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.

Required Skills

Core Skills

Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) by Texas Board of Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association

Preferred Skills

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification by American Heart Association

Requirements

Experience: None

Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Associate’s degree in nursing, or diploma from an accredited nursing school.

License & Certification:

Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
