Job Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive care to patients and families with complex healthcare needs.
  • Promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
  • Ensures efficient operation of the clinic or unit by proper scheduling, planning, and maintenance of supplies.
  • Conducts focused and comprehensive assessments through subjective and objective data.
  • Documents assessments and nursing care plans using critical thinking and judgment.
  • Implements plan of care through assignment and monitoring of other nurses and staff.
  • Initiates standing orders for prescription refills and labs.
  • Develops and implements teaching plans for patients regarding health maintenance and restoration.
  • Evaluates patients’ responses to education and therapeutic interventions.
  • Communicates effectively with the collaborative team, escalating critical results as necessary.
  • Coordinates care and refers patients to appropriate agencies or professionals.
  • Performs on-site and telephone triage using best practice guidelines.
  • Acts as a patient and healthcare advocate while maintaining a safe environment.
  • Respects and maintains privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) by Texas Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification by American Heart Association

Requirements

Experience: None

Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Associate’s degree in nursing, or diploma from an accredited nursing school.

License & Certification:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
