Job Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates employee health services in the local market.
  • Serves as a key resource for education, communication, and support related to occupational health, infection prevention, workers compensation and staff wellness initiatives.
  • Implements and maintains employee health policies and procedures in alignment with AH System goals and regulatory standards.
  • Manages and evaluates annual medical surveillance programs, organizing and reviewing diagnostic tests ensuring employees are medically fit.
  • Reviews documentation to confirm employees meet medical requirements for their roles and refers for further evaluation as needed.
  • Provides initial evaluation and treatment for work-related injuries and illnesses according to AH system protocols.
  • Collaborates with treating providers and others to facilitate timely return-to-work plans and prevent injury recurrence.
  • Coordinates investigations of employee exposures to communicable diseases ensuring proper follow-up and reporting.
  • Monitors trends in employee injuries and illnesses, conducting reviews and presenting findings to leadership.
  • Oversees immunization programs, tuberculosis screening, and substance abuse testing in accordance with guidelines.
  • Assists in coordinating reasonable accommodations or job modifications for employees with medical restrictions.
  • Reviews return-to-work documentation for employees recovering from illness or injury.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential employee health records following regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participates in performance improvement initiatives based on health and safety data.
  • Attends professional development meetings serving on committees to disseminate practices to staff and leadership.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: One year relevant experience preferred.

Education: Graduate from an accredited school/college of nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

License & Certification:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certified required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
