Job Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of patients.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians.
- Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities.
- Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre, during, and post hemodialysis treatment.
- Document patient data in the medical record and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Assess and document patient/family's basic learning needs for education.
- Direct and provide hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with patient care staff.
- Administer medications as prescribed and document medical justification and effectiveness.
- Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
- Serve as a resource for the health care team and participate in staff training.
- Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures.
- Identify expected outcomes and update nursing assessments and plans of care.
- Ensure patient awareness related to transplant and treatment modality options.
- Complete CAP requirements to advance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements
Experience: Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience; minimum of 9 months experience as a RN; minimum of 3 months experience in chronic/acute hemodialysis as a RN.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
License & Certification:
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification
