Job Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care
  • Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and the continuum of care
  • Functions within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model
  • Plans, implements, evaluates, and communicates all phases of nursing care for assigned patients
  • Provides leadership through preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts
  • Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources
  • Possesses excellent communication skills and is skillful in mentoring and teaching
  • May participate on committees or projects
  • A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as part of their role

Requirements

Experience: One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of current LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred

Education: Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program recognized by ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA

License & Certification:

  • Current RN license by applicable state requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) competency
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire

Schedule:

  • Days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call as required
