Job Responsibilities
- Provides direct and indirect patient care in the office/clinic setting.
- Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs.
- Communicates with office/clinic physicians about changes in patient's status.
- Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response.
- Performs head-to-toe assessments on all patients and reassessments per policy.
- Assesses and reassesses pain and pain management techniques utilized.
- Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
- Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring and identifies dysrhythmias.
- Assists the physician(s) with office procedures while maintaining asepsis.
- Maintains and disinfects medical equipment and sterilizes instruments.
- Answers telephone calls professionally; refers patient problems to physicians.
- Schedules patient appointments and maintains accurate nursing documentation.
- Treats patients and families with respect and dignity.
- Addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients.
- Functions as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles for age-appropriate care.
- Interprets patient data to identify and meet age-specific needs.
- Involves patients and families in the care plan formation.
- Works with insurance companies for timely authorizations of prescription medications.
- Formulates teaching plans based on identified learning needs and evaluates their effectiveness.
- Maintains current knowledge of medications and their correct administration.
- Demonstrates knowledge of lab requirements and requisitions.
- Maintains established office/clinic policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Plans and provides nursing care in accordance with physician orders.
- Ensures a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Maintains an adequate stock of supplies and the proper functioning of equipment.
- Assists in cost containment through appropriate ordering of supplies and equipment.
- Cooperates with other personnel to achieve office/clinic objectives.
- Supervises nursing staff and orients new staff.
- Enhances professional growth through participation in educational programs and workshops.

Requirements
Experience:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse (RN: KY)
- Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR)
