Job Responsibilities
- Plan, develop and coordinate continuing nursing in-service education programs for all nursing staff.
- Enhance professional practice and patient care through evidence-based educational programs.
- Coordinate and lead the facility’s infection prevention and control program.
- Determine, prevent, and contain infectious outbreaks within the facility.
- Facilitate orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
- Conduct orientation to foster a positive learning environment.
- Participate in designing educational activities addressing practice gaps.
- Identify learning needs of staff and role model competent practice.
- Collaborate with Corporate Nursing Director/Educator to review outcomes data.
- Assist with the development and/or instruction of didactic content and clinical skills.
- Develop education plans according to gap assessments or quality data.
- Align educational programs with facility and organizational policies.
- Implement and deliver educational curricula as required by regulatory agencies.
- Create engaging, evidence-based educational content for specific audiences.
- Demonstrate exceptional instructional skills while maintaining learner engagement.
- Provide educational leadership to patients and care providers.
- Educate patients and caregivers on health management and care needs.
- Support new ideas and innovations in educational design.
- Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients and team members.
- Conduct ongoing surveillance of infections and maintain accurate records.
- Compile and present Infection Reports to various committees.
- Inspect environment and observe personnel activities for infection hazards.
- Monitor compliance with infection prevention standards.
- Investigate exposure incidents and oversee follow-up processes.
- Notify medical and administrative staff about reportable diseases.
- Develop programs on infection prevention and control.
- Assess and reinforce infection prevention practices.

Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of experience as a registered nurse, with 3 years in inpatient psychiatry and 2 years in behavioral health.
Education: Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education or equivalent experience preferred; Bachelor's degree in nursing or commensurate experience required.
License & Certification:
- Current state nursing license
- Certification by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required
