Job Responsibilities
- Act as a primary scrub person during surgical procedures.
- Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for surgeries.
- Circulate under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
- Maintain asepsis at all times.
- Serve as a resource person for certain specialties.
- Assist with orientation, training, and mentorship of new Operating Room Technicians.
- Collaborate closely with RNs and management regarding instrumentation and equipment.
- Assist in the education of all Operating Room Technicians.

- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift patients and equipment with assistance as needed
- Adaptation and coping skills
Preferred Skills
- BLS certification or ability to obtain within six months
- Basic knowledge of Windows
Requirements
Experience:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent; Graduate of a surgical technology school
License & Certification:
- CST certification
- Proof of 15 hours of continuing education yearly
