Job Responsibilities
- Examining and treating patients
- Taking patients’ medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
- Educating and counseling patients
- Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
- Giving vaccinations and referring patients to additional care
- Performing all other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Excellent assessment skills
- Communication and customer service skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Ability to perform office procedures such as suturing and splinting
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge and experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting
Requirements
Experience: 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience; Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting
Education: Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants; Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
License & Certification:
- National Certification
- Active state medical licensure
- NCCPA Certification for Physician Assistants
- ANCC or AANP Certification for Nurse Practitioners
Schedule:
- Flexible scheduling to accommodate vacations and wellness days
- Monday through Friday
- Weekend shifts and limited on-call availability required
