Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships internally and externally by building teams and relationships through mentoring and modeling uplifting and positive communication.
  • Coach colleagues on cultural diversity and address workplace horizontal violence and impairment.

  • Incorporate national professional organizations as well as business unit and health system goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction of the patient experience.

  • Disseminate new knowledge and innovations through presentations, posters, and publications.
  • Apply nursing knowledge and skills within the framework of Relationship Based Care using the nursing process to meet clinical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking in the analysis of clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual issues.
  • Practice solid verbal and written communication skills and articulate and translate patient conditions to other care providers.
  • Ensure patient documentation is comprehensive and promotes communication between caregivers.
  • Serve as a leader in clinical nursing practice, identifying patient and staff-focused opportunities for improvement and leading the change process.
  • Identify, educate, and support the psychological and learning needs of staff during change and transition.
  • Practice participatory leadership and be an active member of shared leadership at the unit, facility, or system level.
  • Assume formal leadership responsibilities for quality improvement, evidence-based practice, GN, or new hire onboarding.
  • Complete and/or assist with staff performance evaluations for direct reports as applicable.

Preferred Skills

  • MSN or CNL degree
  • Experience in nursing leadership roles
  • Knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan

Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience

Education: BS/BSN preferred; must be enrolled in a program within one year of hire if not completed by hire/transfer date

License & Certification:

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within 30 days of hire
  • Act 34 Clearance
