Job Responsibilities

  • Provide quality and engaging instruction in all delivery methods and formats within specific academic programs.
  • Provide timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding the mastery of course and program learning outcomes.
  • Engage students outside of class in support of the curriculum and co-curriculum.
  • Provide institutional support and community service.
  • Participate meaningfully in student retention and completion initiatives.
  • Support the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.
  • Conform to campus expectations of faculty performance and engagement.
  • Deliver assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that best support student learning.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum and supporting course materials in line with course objectives and program learning outcomes.
  • Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and required documentation.
  • Manage a classroom environment conducive to student learning and adhere to safety standards.
  • Facilitate student achievement of expected program learning outcomes.
  • Use Learning Management System (e.g. IvyLearn) for teaching, learning, assessment, and communication.
  • Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and learning environments.
  • Provide academic-related coaching and monitoring to assigned student advisees.
  • Monitor and document student performance, providing necessary interventions and referrals.
  • Maintain posted office hours and student engagement hours in accordance with expectations.
  • Promote and assist in student recruitment, retention, and successful completion of programs.
  • Participate in professional development activities to advance instructional and technical skills.
  • Participate in scholarly activities related to the discipline to fulfill performance plans.
  • Stay current in contemporary pedagogy and digital technology.
  • Participate in community service activities to advance college relationships.
  • Develop community/industry/business contacts to advance college relationships.
  • Provide institutional support requested by college administration.
  • Attend commencement and participate as assigned.
  • Participate in college-wide meetings and departmental meetings.
  • Participate in career service and alumni activities.
  • Support program/department chair in program management activities.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction
  • Experience in pedagogy and curriculum development
  • Ability to facilitate student learning and retention
  • Effective communication and mentoring skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Long Term Care experience in a licensed Long Term Care facility
  • Completion of train the trainer for CNA and QMA

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of directly related work experience

Education: Earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution

License & Certification:

  • Certification or licensure in a health care discipline providing care or service directly to patients
