Job Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive care to patients and families with complex healthcare needs.
- Promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
- Ensures efficient operation of the clinic or unit by proper scheduling, planning, and maintenance of supplies.
- Conducts focused and comprehensive assessments through subjective and objective data.
- Documents assessments and nursing care plans using critical thinking and judgment.
- Implements plan of care through assignment and monitoring of other nurses and staff.
- Initiates standing orders for prescription refills and labs.
- Develops and implements teaching plans for patients regarding health maintenance and restoration.
- Evaluates patients’ responses to education and therapeutic interventions.
- Communicates effectively with the collaborative team, escalating critical results as necessary.
- Coordinates care and refers patients to appropriate agencies or professionals.
- Performs on-site and telephone triage using best practice guidelines.
- Acts as a patient and healthcare advocate while maintaining a safe environment.
- Respects and maintains privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) by Texas Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association
Preferred Skills
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification by American Heart Association
Requirements
Experience: None
Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Associate’s degree in nursing, or diploma from an accredited nursing school.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
