Job Responsibilities
- Perform responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
- Adhere to broad scope of practice as established by Nurse Practice Act.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the clinic or unit by proper scheduling and planning for optimum use of staff and resources.
- Maintain stock and supplies, and ensure efficient and safe use of equipment.
- Use systematic approach to provide nursing care by performing both focused and comprehensive assessments.
- Prioritize, synthesize and document assessments and nursing plans of care using critical thinking and judgment.
- Implement plan of care within scope of practice through assignment and monitoring of other nurses and delegation and monitoring of unlicensed staff.
- Initiate standing orders for prescription refills and labs, and standing delegation orders where appropriate.
- Develop and implement teaching plans for patients concerning maintenance, promotion, and restoration of health.
- Evaluate patients' response and outcomes to education and therapeutic interventions.
- Communicate effectively with collaborative team while escalating critical results and issues in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Exercise judgment while coordinating care and referring patients to agencies or health care professionals.
- Perform on site and telephone triage using best practice guidelines and documentation.
- Be responsible for compiling daily or monthly reports.
- Act as a patient and healthcare advocate by maintaining a safe environment and promoting quality healthcare and services.
- Respect and maintain privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
- Adhere to standards of practice for professional nursing.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) by Texas Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association
Preferred Skills
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification by American Heart Association
- Pediatrics experience
Requirements
Experience: None
Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing, Associate’s degree in nursing, or diploma from an accredited nursing school
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
