Job Responsibilities

Exercise delegated administrative responsibility for the supervision of hospital personnel and functions.
Facilitate efficient operational activities throughout the facility in the absence of the Administrator or Department Director.
Serve as an administrative representative knowledgeable about hospital/organizational policy and procedures.
Consult with the Department Director or Administrator on-call to suspend employees whose performance endangers patient care.
Identify and address operational risks while supervising nursing and care staff.
Determine staffing needs to meet safe patient care requirements.
Understand and interpret clinical acuity/diagnoses of patients to ensure appropriate patient placement.
Respond appropriately to disasters and codes.
