Job Responsibilities

  • Implement standards of nursing practice in infection prevention, reviewing and revising as necessary.
  • Assist with the provision of nursing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Ensure clear, concise, and current written policies and procedures to assist staff and minimize risk factors in infection prevention.
  • Track and trend infections, antibiotic stewardship, hand hygiene, vaccinations (Influenza, Pneumococcal, and Covid).
  • Provide licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician, in accordance with facility, federal, state, and local standards.
  • Conduct required resident assessments/observations and interventions, reviewing care plans for appropriateness.
  • Chart nurses' notes in an informative and descriptive manner reflecting the care provided and the resident’s response.
  • Communicate/report information to residents, families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies, and facility personnel as required.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards and address instances of non-compliance immediately.
  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding HIPAA compliance.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • CPR trained and possess current BLS certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Expertise in Infection Prevention
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding and following infection control standards, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel

Preferred Skills

  • 1 year of experience preferred
  • Long-Term care experience preferred

Requirements

Experience: 1 year of experience preferred

Education: Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University

License & Certification:

  • Current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse
  • CPR certification from recognized organizations like the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Schedule:

  • Flexible work schedule with occasional overnight travel
