Job Responsibilities
- Administer complex treatments and monitor invasive and non-invasive equipment.
- Measure patient progress in fluid balance and laboratory data.
- Administer other complex treatments such as IV Push medications.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of intraoperative care for pregnant and/or postpartum patients.
- Provide immediate postoperative care following surgical procedures.
- Operate and monitor specialized monitoring, therapeutic, and resuscitative equipment.
- Provide assessment and total care of pregnant patients through Labor and Delivery, including high-risk obstetrics and care of mother-baby couplets.
- Deliver antepartum care for patients generally greater than 18 weeks gestation.
- Coordinate the census and acuity on the shift.
- Delegate staff assignments.
- Have knowledge of the transitional care of neonates.
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with the PWS.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Active Nursing License in TX
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- Knowledge of intraoperative care
- Knowledge of immediate postoperative care
- Knowledge of high-risk obstetrics
- Knowledge of transitional care of neonates
Preferred Skills
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
