Job Responsibilities
- Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and attends relevant education programs.
- Assesses readiness to learn of the patient/family/caregivers and evaluates developmental level of patients.
- Identifies expected patient outcomes and participates in plan of care discussions.
- Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems and performs necessary point of care testing.
- Organizes and prioritizes care based on patient/family needs.
- Collaborates with appropriate resources for patients with complex issues.
- Develops professional growth goals and achieves them within identified time frames.
- Participates in performance improvement activities and uses communication systems effectively.
- Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care.
- Collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update the care plan.
- Synthesizes assessment data into meaningful information for communication.
- Reads relevant nursing journals and discusses findings with staff.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
- Competence in clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards
Preferred Skills
- Experience in managing patients with complex health conditions
- Ability to use multidisciplinary resources in planning care
- Knowledge of public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting healthcare
Requirements
Experience: One (1) year of nursing experience
Education: Graduation from a school of professional nursing; must obtain a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing within specified timelines if hired post 2014
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse in North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
