Job Responsibilities

  • Apply the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and discharge needs of patient/family/significant other.
  • Incorporate Core Concepts of Patient- and Family-Centered Care (PFCC) in practice.
  • Recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
  • Partner with and utilize patient/family input and goals in planning care.
  • Provide quality care that meets or exceeds expectations based on core measures and patient experience.
  • Assist individuals considering their special, age-related and cultural-related needs.
  • Recognize and utilize the roles of the interdisciplinary team and patient/family care partners.
  • Delegate appropriate tasks.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and competently perform technical procedures and use equipment properly.
  • Document in the patient record in a timely, accurate, and concise manner.
  • Develop teaching strategies for patient/family and document education appropriately.
  • Demonstrate leadership and responsibility for personal education, mentoring peers, and educating patients and families.
  • Stay updated with health system initiatives, incorporating evidence-based practice and research.
  • Complete a self-appraisal including professional goals annually and conduct peer reviews.
  • Participate in department-based activities, staff meetings, and committees.
  • Actively participate in hand-offs of care involving the patient, family, and partners in care.
  • Embrace and understand cultural traditions and lore of the community served.

Requirements

Experience: Less than one year for new graduates; otherwise, at least one year of acute care experience or greater than two years in a licensed healthcare role.

Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent. B.S.N. required if less than one year of experience.

License & Certification:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation

Schedule:

  • Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 days a week
  • Every other weekend

COVID-19 Requirements: Compliance required with MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccines.
