Job Responsibilities

  • Provide continued educational support, training, and mentoring to new nurses in the clinical area.
  • Ensure a smooth transition to practice by providing unit-based support.
  • Coordinate the needs and resources for each new nurse by following up during and after the orientation period.
  • Serve as a clinical liaison between education and clinical managers/coordinators.
  • Facilitate a timely release from orientation by assessing needs and performance in real time.
  • Identify needs and address targeted knowledge and skill deficits through available resources.
  • Enhance role development success for new nurses and improve patient outcomes.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification
  • Acute care experience
  • Preceptor experience

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care experience, Minimum of 1 year preceptor experience

Education: BSN preferred

License & Certification:

  • Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification
