Job Responsibilities
- Provides direct and indirect patient care in the office/clinic setting.
- Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs.
- Communicates with office/clinic physicians about changes in patient's status and diagnostic study results.
- Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response.
- Evaluates outcomes and adjusts nursing care processes for optimal patient care.
- Performs head-to-toe assessments on all patients including pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general populations.
- Assesses and reassesses pain and pain management techniques; educates patients and families about pain management.
- Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring and identifies dysrhythmias.
- Assists physicians with office procedures and maintains medical and surgical asepsis.
- Maintains medical equipment and disinfects/sterilizes instruments.
- Answers telephone calls professionally, refers patient problems to physicians, and schedules appointments.
- Maintains accurate nursing documentation including patient histories and assessments.
- Treats patients and families with respect and dignity, addressing psychosocial and cultural needs.
- Functions as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and healthcare providers.
- Interprets data about patient’s status to provide age-specific care.
- Involves patients and families in the formation of care plans.
- Works with insurance companies for timely authorizations for medications.
- Forms teaching plans based on identified learning needs and evaluates their effectiveness.
- Maintains knowledge of medications and their administration based on patient age and clinical condition.
- Demonstrates knowledge of lab requirements and requisitions.
- Maintains compliance with office/clinic policies, performance improvement programs, and safety standards.
- Plans and provides nursing care in accordance with physician orders.
- Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Manages stock of supplies and functions of equipment, assisting in cost containment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of healthcare plans and procedural costs.
- Supervises nursing staff and orients new staff.
- Participates in educational programs and workshops for professional growth.

Requirements
Experience:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse (RN:KY)
- Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR)
