Position: Nursing role specialized in pediatric patient care for chronic conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Pay Level: 6

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care to infants, children and young adults requiring specialized care for chronic conditions related to developmental disabilities and mental health.
  • Coordinate care of patients/families in the clinic.
  • Provide triage services and monitor overall clinic flow and processes.
  • Assess patients' nursing care needs and evaluate effectiveness of care provided.
  • Integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice.
  • Provide leadership to nursing team members to maintain patient care standards.
  • Develop patient care plans based on condition, age, and other factors.
  • Implement patient care plans and document/report interventions and patient/family responses.
  • Collaborate and integrate contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary care plans.
  • Implement nursing interventions and follow department protocols to maintain a safe environment.
  • Act as a liaison for patients/families, clinicians, and community resources.

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing

  • Knowledge of community programs for people with disabilities
  • Experience with electronic medical record programs

Requirements

Experience: Previous nursing experience working with pediatric patients; one year experience in a patient care setting that included triage responsibilities.

Education: Associate’s Degree, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate Degree, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), or Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.

License & Certification:

  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa

Schedule:

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-5:30 PM
