Job Title: Staff Nurse - IRL Gastroenterology Clinic (80- 100%)

Position: Patient Centered Staff Nurse in Gastroenterology Clinic

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: Pay Level: 6

Shift: Monday - Friday, 0800-1700 with one hour lunch, potential Saturdays, either 8-hour or 10-hour shifts

Job Responsibilities

  • Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnoses, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness.
  • Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations.
  • Scribes in patient care rooms for providers.
  • Prepares charts including updating health maintenance and closing care gaps.
  • Coordinates the continuum of care across settings.
  • Develops patient care plans based on patient condition, age, and socioeconomic conditions.
  • Implements patient care plans according to patient priorities.
  • Documents and reports interventions and patient/family responses.
  • Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multi-disciplinary patient care plans.
  • Develops, coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout the episode of care.
  • Implements nursing interventions according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Nursing assessment and diagnosis
  • Patient care planning and implementation

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in an ambulatory clinic setting
  • Experience with EPIC
  • Previous triage experience

Requirements

Experience: Experience in nursing, ideally with ambulatory clinic experience

Education: An Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or Master’s degree in Nursing (MNHP or MSN) is required

License & Certification:

  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa required by date of hire

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 80-100% schedule
