Job Responsibilities

  • Functions as a self-directed clinical leader, educator, and consultant utilizing management theory in collaboration with Patient Care Service (PCS) and other services.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with all levels of medical center personnel, customers, families, and the community.
  • Assists Nurse Managers (NM) to carry out expected functions and activities.
  • Contributes ideas and recommendations for establishing standards of care, policies, and objectives for nursing organization-wide.
  • Demonstrates leadership at the service and/or hospital level.
  • Performs administrative functions to assist the Director of Nursing (DON) with aggregate data and participate in the budget process.
  • Provides leadership in determining resource allocation based on patient care systems.
  • Actively supports and role models patient-family centered care concepts.
  • Engages in professional organizations for leadership and career growth.
  • Adheres to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at all levels.
  • Cultivates alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening and emotional intelligence.
  • Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, policies, and SOP.
  • Aligns nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes.
  • Responsible for making recommendations for staff appointments, advancements/promotions, or reassignments.
  • Provides advice, counsel or instruction on work-related matters and resolves complaints or escalated concerns.

Preferred Skills

  • 3 years experience as a nurse manager or in a progressive leadership role in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and engaging employees in process improvement.
  • Experience with survey preparation and facility project development.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing.

Requirements

Experience: 3 years experience as a nurse manager or in a progressive leadership role.

Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing accredited by ACEN or CCNE.

License & Certification:

  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse.

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts.

COVID-19 Requirements: Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required.
