Job Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of Registered Nurses and Medical Coordinators overseeing medical care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Works collaboratively with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, individuals in services, providers, and families.
  • Applies clinical knowledge to assess individuals and provide consultation and training.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates services required to support individual health needs.
  • Maintains a manageable caseload of individuals requiring the delegation of medical procedures outside the scope of QMAP.
  • Develops and updates policies and procedures in accordance with current standards of practice and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with assessments, nursing documentation, and transcription of orders.
  • Completes and documents evaluations and assessments to identify training and support needs.
  • Develops strategic plans incorporating data analysis to improve processes and patient outcomes.
  • Provides medical consultation to interdisciplinary team members.
  • Participates in agency regulatory/monitoring committees and provides input to ensure quality care.
  • Attends external stakeholder training, meetings, and nursing conferences.
  • Participates in on-call rotation approximately every 10 weeks.
  • Assists with day-to-day nursing functional duties and medical coordinator responsibilities as needed.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities according to organization policies and current nursing practice guidelines.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees; directs work and addresses performance issues.

Requirements

Experience: Two (2) years professional healthcare experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution

License & Certification:

  • Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state in eNLC

  • Travel required to remote work sites, submitting mileage reimbursement.
