Job Responsibilities
- Integrate with the patient, family, and provider in the care of the patient in the ambulatory setting.
- Responsible for the assessments of patients and documentation of such assessments.
- Complete any received orders according to defined practice guidelines and EHR protocols.
- Ensure the delivery of quality nursing care in accordance with patients’ needs, providers' orders, defined plan of care, policies, and standards of practice.
- Provide direct/indirect patient care, result management, in-basket management, and telephone triage.
- Educate patients as needed and perform other duties as deemed necessary by leadership.
- Incorporate multiple data sources to strengthen communication and collaboration.
- Act in accordance with all established policies and procedures, the American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice, and the Indiana Nurse Practice Act.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Medical terminology and pharmacology background
- Essential computer skills
- Knowledge of electronic medical records
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of cardiac rhythms
- ACLS certification
Requirements
Experience: 2 years experience in a medical setting required, cardiology ideal.
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
License & Certification:
- Valid Indiana Registered Nurse nursing license required
- CPR certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
