Job Responsibilities

Supervise hospital personnel and functions within the assigned facility in the absence of Administrator or Department Director.
Facilitate efficient operational activities throughout the facility.
Act as an administrative representative knowledgeable about hospital/organizational policy and procedures.
Consult with the Department Director or Administrator on-call to suspend employees whose performance endangers patient care or the capability of others to function.
Determine staffing needs to meet safe patient care requirements.
Supervise nursing and care staff.
Understand and interpret the clinical acuity/diagnoses of patients for appropriate placement.
Respond appropriately to disasters and codes.
