Job Responsibilities

Assist the DON/CNO with directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring and supervising the effective and efficient use of the operations of nursing for assigned units.
Oversee the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services in a positive, empathetic, and professional manner.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration to meet residents' needs.
Resolve customer complaints regarding unmet needs.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as nursing practice standards.
Manage changes in census and acuity, allocating nursing resources accordingly.
Model customer service expectations and prioritize patient safety.
Provide consultations and expertise in care delivery to patients.
Manage activities of nursing staff and coordinate safe and appropriate care between departments.
Evaluate work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, and service staff.
Analyze situations to determine the best solutions to problems.
Recruit, hire, and train new staff.
Identify the educational needs of staff and develop training programs.
Assist with the development and implementation of organizational policies.
Prepare reports for management on program status and quality initiatives.
Provide direct care as needed.
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Two years of registered nursing experience required; three years as a registered nurse strongly preferred.

Education: BSN or higher strongly preferred.

License & Certification:

Current RN license in the State
CPR certification
De-escalation/restraint certification (training available upon hire)
First aid may be required
