Provide nursing care to patients and coordinate pre-surgical and post-surgical care for clinic patients who are identified for elective surgery.
Perform all staff nurse functions and utilize all standards of care.
Ensure all requirements are obtained prior to the surgery date.
Assess and triage post-operative patients.
Communicate with patients regarding their upcoming surgery.
Provide education on procedures and pre-surgical expectations.
Follow up with patients as required.
Provide patient-centered interventions.
Ensure all labs are ordered and completed.
Follow up on surgical clearances.
Serve as the primary liaison with patients concerning their pre-operative needs and concerns.
Monitor the entire patient surgical navigation process.
Provide direct patient care when directed by clinical supervisor.
Perform post-op assessments.
Participate in all patient experience improvement initiatives.
Maintain accountability and responsibility for patients, even if tasks are delegated.

Ability to provide support to all members of the care team and communicate effectively

Familiarity with medical and surgical equipment used in the patient care environment

Experience: Over five (5) years in Acute Care, Ambulatory Care, and/or Care Coordination

Education: Bachelor's Degree, BSN from an accredited school of nursing

License & Certification:

Current licensure as RN in Florida or valid licensure in one of the states under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (preferred)
