Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the patient’s care team including primary care team, specialists, home care, hospital team, and any others involved with the patient’s care to optimize clinical outcomes.
  • Performs Nurse Manager duties in the absence of NM.
  • Supervises assigned staff, establishing work assignments and priorities in relation to nursing services available.
  • Conducts weekly review and adjustment of timecards and time off requests.
  • Provides input for performance evaluations, monitors orientation of new hires, and coaches/counsels staff in conjunction with NMO and HR.
  • Monitors health center equipment needs and ensures compliance with infection control standards, CLIA, and Radiology regulations.
  • Monitors compliance with standards of care for on-site treatments and procedures, administration of medications, and timely clinical workflows.
  • Enhances patient experience by addressing and resolving patient issues in a timely manner.
  • Conducts daily patient care huddles.
  • Responsible for approving payroll and administering performance evaluations in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
  • Completes daily/weekly quality assurance checklists and delegates tasks appropriately to staff.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and Central Health Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensures adherence to applicable vaccine policies and may serve as Vaccine Coordinator or backup Coordinator.
  • Supports Provider teams by assisting with in-basket management, refilling medications, and triaging patients as appropriate.
  • Practices AIDET during each patient interaction to enhance the patient experience.
  • Participates in the hiring process for new staff members by conducting interviews and making recommendations.
  • Acts as a resource to Medical Assistants and other clinical team members.
  • Responds to all clinic codes.
  • Assists in developing departmental protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement projects.
  • Maintains awareness of key performance indicators/metrics and coordinates interventions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Coordinates and attends staff meetings and education offerings.
  • Supports organizational initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Serves on committees as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Two years supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

License & Certification:

  • Unrestricted Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained through approved American Heart Association or Red Cross
