Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized nursing care for patients.
  • Identify care needs for patient populations across the continuum of care.
  • Collaborate and provide leadership in the development of standards of care, patient/family education, and staff education.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide leadership within the delivery of patient care.
  • Guide the professional growth of others through role modeling, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Conduct performance reviews and recommend personnel actions including hiring, performance appraisals, and terminations.
  • Monitor clinical practice and ensure compliance to practice and regulatory standards.
  • Plan and deliver in-house education sessions or collaborate with subject matter experts.
  • Serve as a superuser for clinical information systems and facilitate service tickets.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze patient care data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Engage in research and innovation initiatives to develop new methodologies for enhancing patient care.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • Knowledge of the scope of registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, and unlicensed staff.
  • Ability to assess nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families.
  • Competency in BLS and/or other specialized life support requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in leadership and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and establish effective working relationships.

Requirements

Experience: Three years of experience required.

Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSN degree.

License & Certification:

  • Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • BLS certification required.
