Job Responsibilities

Enhance the performance and professional development of healthcare providers.
Develop and coordinate educational programs and materials for nursing and patient care service areas.
Facilitate the development of clinical excellence in assigned areas through orientation, training, and ongoing staff development.
Evaluate clinical practice for all levels of personnel served.
Coordinate community healthcare programs including high school and college/university clinical placements.
Participate in the development of formal and informal education programs and activities to improve quality standards and outcomes.
Act as a resource and educator on new policies, procedures, equipment, and healthcare information.
Stay updated on current research in nursing practice and care delivery.
Facilitate the implementation of Evidence Based Practice initiatives.
Adjust working hours and availability as needed to meet educational needs of staff.

Requirements

Experience: Five (5) years’ clinical nursing experience appropriate for area of specialty required. Previous teaching experience or evidence of teaching ability preferred.

Education: Graduate from NLN School of Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

License & Certification:

Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Mississippi
BCLS certification
BCLS instructor certification within six (6) months of hire
ACLS and PALS certification within one (1) year of hire
De-escalation training within 90 days of hire
