Job Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive nursing assessment/reassessment, including age-appropriate admission or transfer assessments.
- Documents findings accurately and completely.
- Assesses post-operative/post-invasive procedure patients.
- Documents education and discharge needs of patient and family during hospitalization.
- Establishes and evaluates a plan of care based on assessment data, patient diagnosis, lab results, and physician orders.
- Coordinates and communicates patient care, ensuring accurate handoff communication reports.
- Administers and documents medications according to policies and procedures.
- Monitors and maintains accurate IV fluids and parenteral nutrition.
- Completes referrals as indicated by assessment data and requests consultations as needed.
- Provides patient/family education and discharge planning.
- Recognizes changes in patient's condition and takes appropriate nursing actions.
- Involves family/guardian in care and decision making.
- Applies infection control practices in daily care.
- Evaluates and modifies the plan of care based on patient response and clinical parameters.
- Provides specialized care to patients at high risk for injury, including managing restraint care when necessary.
- Assesses patients for pain and implements pain management techniques.
- Recognizes potential signs of abuse/neglect and reports appropriately.
- Maintains a safe, clean and therapeutic environment for patients and employees.
- Demonstrates accountability for professional practice and adheres to all standards and protocols.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP)
- Nursing assessment and reassessment skills
- Patient care planning and coordination
Preferred Skills
- Experience in an acute care or hospital setting
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams
Requirements
Experience:
Education: Licensed to work as an RN in the state of Missouri
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - AHA
Schedule:
- 40 hours a week, Day Shift, Monday - Friday
