Job Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive nursing assessment/reassessment.
- Completes age-appropriate admission assessment or transfer assessment.
- Obtains input from family/guardian when appropriate.
- Accurately and completely documents findings.
- Assesses post-op/post-invasive procedure patients.
- Documents education and discharge needs of patient and family.
- Establishes, coordinates and evaluates a plan of care based on assessment data.
- Identifies short and long term goals based on patient care needs.
- Formulates nursing interventions to achieve desired patient outcome.
- Incorporates disease specific evidenced based practice into care plans.
- Collaborates with health team members for coordination of daily care.
- Administers and documents medications according to policies.
- Monitors and documents IV fluids and parenteral nutrition.
- Provides patient/family education and discharge planning.
- Recognizes changes in patient's condition and takes appropriate actions.
- Implements physician orders accurately and timely.
- Demonstrates accountability for professional practice.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
- Comprehensive nursing assessments
- Patient care coordination
- Medication administration
Preferred Skills
- Experience in critical care or specialized nursing
- Knowledge in infection control
Requirements
Experience:
Education: Licensed to work as an RN in the state of Missouri
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - AHA
