Supports, supervises, and evaluates staff new to a clinical setting during their first 90 to 180 days.
Acts within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres.
Facilitates a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in the provision of health care.
Promotes excellence in the provision of nursing care through the implementation of clinical standards.
Establishes competency standards for staff members.
Demonstrates a firm knowledge base and clinical expertise.
Functions as a clinical resource and conducts patient care consultations.
Provides resources to assess the impact of appropriate practice on patient outcomes.
Supports clinical rounds with the multi-disciplinary health care team.
Works closely and collaboratively with physicians to establish collegial relationships.

Experience: 3 years Registered nursing experience in area of specialty; 2 years Clinical leadership responsibility.

Education: Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by CCNE or NLNAC.
