Job Responsibilities

Manage the nursing staff, scheduling breaks, and reassigning employees as needed.
Write performance reviews and enforce policies, including issuing coaching and corrective action.
Responsible for recruitment, training, clinical orientation, supervision, scheduling, time cards, and personnel issues in the nursing department.
Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, and other related departments in planning care.
Develop and maintain care standards.
Make frequent rounds to note resident/patient conditions and ensure nursing personnel are performing their work assignments according to acceptable standards.
Give and receive nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
Ensure assigned work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
Ensure that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and the resident’s response to care.
Monitor residents daily to observe and evaluate each resident’s physical and emotional status.
Follow and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding HIPAA compliance.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Core Skills

CPR trained and current BLS certification
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong interpersonal and team development skills
Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to organize and prioritize work and delegate to others
Understanding of infection control standards, policies, and procedures

Preferred Skills

At least 2 years of supervisory experience
Long-term care and MDS experience
Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel

Requirements

Experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

Education: Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.

License & Certification:

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State
CPR and BLS certification from recognized organizations
