Job Responsibilities

Responsible for day to day oversight of nursing operations of the facility and ensures staffing is adequate to provide care.
Oversees the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services in a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments and administration to meet all residents’ needs.
Acknowledge and works to resolve customer complaints when residents' needs are not met.
Provide leadership to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and nursing practice standards.
Recognizes that patient safety is a top priority.
Manage changes in census and acuity and allocate nursing resources based on measurements of patient acuity/care needed.
Model customer service expectations and demonstrate urgency regarding patient safety.
Enforce and interpret policies for the delivery of patient and resident care.
Ensure proper staffing for each unit, keeping staff ratios appropriate for patient care needs.
Ensure chart checks are completed and nursing assessments are completed accurately and timely.
Complete rounds at the beginning of shift and perform random audits.
Assist DON to ensure all staff are oriented and competent to perform required duties.
Provide mentoring and training as needed.
Ensure facility compliance with professional, regulatory and governmental standards.
Monitor and evaluate patient care processes and outcomes on the patient care units.
Coordinate all care rendered to patients, including physician orders and diagnostics.
Document medical, behavioral health information and nursing care accurately.
Administer medications and maintain records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Assist in developing and updating individual patient care plans.
Prioritize tasks and delegate staff to ensure quality patient care.
Lead on shift for all admissions and discharges, and inform physician of changes in patient’s conditions.
Utilize administrator-on-call for situations requiring additional attention.
Provide direct care as needed.
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Greater than 1 year of experience as an RN strongly preferred; 1 year in any setting required.

Education: BSN from accredited school of nursing preferred.

License & Certification:

Current Registered Nursing License in State of Facility
CPR Certification
De-escalation/Restraint Certification
First Aid Certification may be required
