Job Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services and management of mothers and babies as defined in standing orders, policies, procedures, and protocols for CNM.
- Perform physical exams, collect and document data, manage labor and spontaneous delivery, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribe appropriate interventions and medications.
- Formulate and implement prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn, and inter-conceptional care as per midwifery scope of practice.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare team, physicians, and administrators, promoting patient and family-centered care.
- Serve on unit and hospital committees related to woman and infant services.
- Utilize current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice.
- Assess educational needs, plan, provide and evaluate educational programs for nursing staff and community.
- Precept nurse midwifery students and provide education and support to Residents and Medical Students.

Requirements
Experience: 6 months of relevant obstetric nursing experience; 5 years of full-scope midwifery experience preferred
Education: Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Midwifery Program
License & Certification:
- LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan required
- CRT-Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) - AMCB required
- CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA required within 180 days
- CRT-Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM) - NCC required within 180 days
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC preferred
