Job Title: Chief Nurse - Nursing Education

Position: Leader of Nursing Education Programs

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: Competitive salary with regular salary increases and potential for performance awards

Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute leadership characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups or integrated programs.
  • Responsible for administrative functions of the assigned nursing unit/programs.
  • Provide senior leadership and oversight for daily clinical and administrative operations within the Nursing Education Department.
  • Supervise Nursing Education, Competency Program, Preceptor Program, RN Transition to Practice Program, Nursing Academic Affiliations, and other educational programs.
  • Generate and disseminate new knowledge relevant to clinical practice, nursing administration, and nursing education.
  • Conduct education needs assessments, provision, design, and evaluation of staff education activities.
  • Oversee fiscal management of education program funding and scholarship program management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and VHA laws and regulations regarding nursing education.
  • Support the integration and collaboration of nursing with other professional disciplines to achieve patient-centered and organizational goals.

Requirements

Experience: 4 years of professional nursing experience, including specialized nursing experience equivalent to Nurse III

Education: Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field, or a Doctoral degree in nursing or related field with relevant experience

License & Certification:

  • 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Schedule:

COVID-19 Requirements: Participation in seasonal influenza vaccination program is required
